Imaging services

Many libraries make digital or analogue reproductions upon request. These services usually require a fee. Modern maps are under copyright and copies may only be made for personal use. For the reproduction of old maps, however, there are no legal restrictions. Nevertheless, a reproduction may well be denied on conservational grounds. Interesting holdings are increasingly being digitalised and made accessible to the public online. Examples can be found on the portals e-rara.ch and e-manuscripta.ch.
