Open Data for Digitized Maps
The two platforms, e-rara.ch and e-manuscripta.ch, are paving the way for open data: Since December 1, 2016, the Public Domain Mark 1.0 or CC BY-SA 4.0 license has also been used for digitized maps wherever possible. The maps can therefore be freely used for scholarly, personal, non-commercial, and commercial purposes. As before, they can be downloaded free of charge directly from the two platforms, e-rara.ch and e-manuscripta.ch (for manuscript maps).
The libraries participating in these platforms support open access to information through Open Data. Researchers and the interested public thus benefit from easy access to historical materials.
