19th International Atlas Days: Swiss Atlas Cartography – Precision and Innovation Between Snow and Rock
April 03, 2025 22:00 April 05, 2025 22:00
From April 4 to 6, 2025, the 19th International Atlas Days will take place at the Zurich Central Library—for the first time in Switzerland.
It was in Zurich, at Froschauer’s printing house, that the world’s first national atlas, Johannes Stumpf’s “Landtafeln,” was first printed in 1548. The venue thus holds special significance for the “Atlas Days.”
As part of the symposium, the development of Swiss cartography will be explored through various presentations and an extensive review of different atlases.
The program will be rounded out on Sunday with a guided tour focusing on the history of maps at the Swiss National Museum.
Please register by March 30, 2025.
